Music Class

Today is my second day of being a stay at home mom.

We visited our town library today to join a little music class advertised for children 0 - 3 years old. Figuring A was in the middle of that age group, I was excited to see if I could mom-click with someone. I figured there would be 6 - 10 other families there and we would all sit in a circle and sing silly songs. A would dance and maybe share with another kid.

Wrong.

We get there 10 minutes early and there are moms with strollers lining up to get into this library class. There was easily 30 families by the end of it. Once it came time, we all herded in to an eventually packed class with little egg shakers and guitars. Now, I was most definitely giving off the overwhelmed, get-this-introvert-out-of-here vibe and I'm pretty sure my, probably introverted daughter was feeling the same way (though surprisingly, she doesn't know the word introvert or how to put things into complete sentences yet). She was the kid yelling no every 10 minutes and on the verge of meltdowns the entire time. By the time it was done, we both felt it was time to go home and nap.

They have a playgroup for ages 2 - 5 next week, so we will check that one out, but not sure either of us are cut out for music at the library.
